It all starts with you..

"Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." (Matthew 7:5).

It is very easy to point out the wrongs that we see from other people but it is very difficult to see those that we do. The lesson that we are learning today is that it all begins with you. In other words in order for you to help others you need to be able to help yourself. For example you need to love yourself before you can be able to love someone else that is why the Word of God teaches us to love our neighbor's as we love ourselves because you cannot love others while you can't even love yourself. Most recently I have learned that you even need to preach the Word of God to yourself and let it work within you before you can be able to preach it to someone else. If you don't practice what you believe others should be practicing then your no different from them.

Defining moments..

1 Samuel 24:11
"Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.

The way we act in difficult times defines who we really are because those times are the only time where the real us comes out. These difficult times are called defining moments because they happen anytime and anywhere without you rehearsing how you'll react. David was being hunted by Saul for so many years because of something that Saul put upon himself when he went against God's commandment. Now in this case David had an upper hand whereby he could have killed Saul but he didn't. This was David's defining moment and we all can see that truly there was no evil nor transgression in his hands. You might be facing times where you have to show that you truly have forgiveness or patience or even love stand your ground and follow God's Word and thereafter you will face your defining moment with confidence knowing that your truly a child of God.

Made ready..

1 Kings 6:7
"And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building."

When king Solomon was building the house of the Lord he created certain criteria for the material that was going to be used to build it because it was not to be built just any how however it needed proper material in order for it to be fit enough to be called the house of the Lord. During the process of building every stone that was going to be used was to be made ready before it was brought inside of the house. The axes, tools and iron heard's that were making the stones ready were used outside of the house so that whatever is inside is kept clean and proper. Well we who are living on earth are very similar to the stones that were being made ready because while we are here we come across our axes, tools and hammer heard's so that when the time comes for us to be sent to God's Kingdom we can be fit enough to be called the children of God.
